DC Chiniot reviews sewerage restoration and urban development works on Lahore road

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan on Thursday visited Lahore Road to inspect ongoing urban development projects and review measures being taken to address civic issues in Chiniot.

During the visit, she was accompanied by Managing Director WASA Muhammad Rafi, who briefed her on the progress of sewerage line restoration work on Omar Road. He informed that work was being carried out on an emergency basis to improve the drainage system and resolve long-standing public complaints.

The deputy commissioner directed officials to accelerate the pace of work and ensure its timely completion so that traffic flow and routine civic life are not disrupted.

She also stressed strict adherence to safety protocols to protect public life and property during construction activities.

She further reviewed water accumulation near Lahore Road and Jaman Colony Road, instructing concerned departments to ensure immediate drainage and cordon off affected areas to prevent any untoward incident. The DC reiterated that the district administration was closely monitoring sanitation and infrastructure projects to resolve public issues on a priority basis.
