Dacoit arrested after encounter

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Police arrested a dacoit after an encounter here on Tuesday.

According to a police spokesman, the accused identified as Maqsood was wanted in more than 40 cases

of dacoities and street robberies.

Jaranwala Saddar police was carrying the accused in dacoity case for recovery, while his three accomplices attacked the police party near Jhok Morrh, link road and succeeded to release him from police custody.

The police chased the outlaws and re-arrested the accused in injured condition after an exchange of fire.

Police shifted the injured to a local hospital and started legal action.
