ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Millions of pilgrims gathered at the plains of Arafat on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the holiest day of Hajj, spending the day in prayers, Talbiyah, remembrance of Allah, and heartfelt supplications in an atmosphere filled with faith, humility, and spiritual devotion during Hajj 1447 AH.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pilgrims began arriving at Arafat from dawn to perform Wuquf-e-Arafah, the central pillar of Hajj, following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The pilgrims remain within the marked boundaries of Arafat throughout the day, as the entire plain is regarded as the place of standing for Hajj pilgrims.

Cries of “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik,” Takbeer, and recitation of the Holy Quran continue to echo across the plains as pilgrims seek forgiveness, mercy, and blessings for themselves, their loved ones, and the Muslim Ummah.

SPA told APP that the Arafah sermon will be delivered at midday to remind worshippers about the virtues and significance of the sacred day, after which combined and shortened Dhuhr and Asr prayers will be offered in accordance with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Pilgrims continue spending the day in worship, repentance, and supplication until sunset in one of the most emotional and spiritually powerful moments of the annual pilgrimage.

After sunset, pilgrims will begin departing peacefully towards Muzdalifah, where they will offer combined Maghrib and Isha prayers before spending the night in worship and reflection under the open sky.
