Courtesy towards citizens, tourists essential for positive police image: DIG Hazara

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) DIG Hazara Nasir Mehmood Satti, while emphasizing the need for professionalism and public-friendly policing, said that courteous behavior, patience and respect towards citizens especially tourists were essential to project a positive image of the police and enhancing the region’s reputation at national and international levels.

He expressed these views while addressing a Regional Traffic Police Darbar at Police Lines Abbottabad on Friday, where he also listened to officers’ issues and issued directives for their resolution. He also listened to the professional and personal issues of traffic police officers and personnel and issued directives for their prompt resolution.

The darbar was organized to address the concerns and welfare of traffic police staff. SSP Traffic Abbottabad Muhammad Ishtiaq, SP Traffic Mansehra Shehzadi Naushad Gilani, and officers and personnel from Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, and Battagram attended the session. SSP Traffic Warden Abbottabad Muhammad Ishtiaq presented a welcome address on behalf of the traffic police.

During the session, officers highlighted various professional and personal challenges.

The DIG directed that all legitimate issues be resolved in accordance with rules and regulations without delay.

Addressing the gathering, Nasir Mehmood Satti said that Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, envisions transforming police facilitation centres and traffic police into modern and efficient service units so the public can benefit from advanced technology.

He emphasized that traffic police serve as the face of the department and play a key role in maintaining its image and morale. He instructed personnel to treat citizens with courtesy, patience, and respect during duty to promote a positive image of the police.

The DIG also stressed the importance of good conduct towards tourists, stating that it enhances the region’s reputation and reflects positively on the country and the department at the international level.

On the occasion, commendation certificates and cash rewards were distributed among officers and personnel who demonstrated outstanding professional performance. He further noted that the department is conducting various training sessions and workshops to enhance the professional capacity of traffic police officials.
