FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on a contractor of the Project Management Unit over poor cleanliness arrangements at Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Tandlianwala during her visit to the facility.
During her visit to Tandlianwala, she inspected different sections of the hospital and expressed dissatisfaction over sanitation conditions.
She warned that no compromise would be made on cleanliness standards in public hospitals.
She also issued a warning to the Medical Superintendent to further improve hygiene arrangements and directed the authorities concerned to ensure beautification and rehabilitation of the hospital lawn.
She checked the availability of medicines and verified the stock record at the medicine store.
She also visited different wards, inquired after the health of patients under treatment and confirmed from them that medicines were being provided by the hospital.
She interacted with patients and their attendants in the waiting area and sought feedback regarding the hospital’s performance and medical facilities.
She also inspected hospital machinery to ensure that equipment was fully functional.
She said that making hospitals across the division complaint-free was a top priority and inspection process would continue regularly to improve healthcare standards.
Later, the divisional commissioner received a briefing about ongoing development works under Rs4 billions Punjab Development Program aimed at improving the sewerage and storm-water drainage system in Tandlianwala Tehsil.
The officials informed that the project included laying of sewer lines, construction of disposal stations, procurement of machinery, establishment of a wastewater treatment plant, development of a storm-water drainage system and construction of parking sheds and other allied works, which would be completed by June 2027.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The divisional commissioner directed the authorities to complete construction work phase-wise within the stipulated timeframe while ensuring transparency and quality standards. The projects would help resolve long-standing sewerage issues in the area, she added.
Later, presiding over a meeting of officers at the Assistant Commissioner Office, the divisional commissioner expressed serious displeasure over slow progress in achieving recovery targets under different heads.
She warned that concerned revenue officers would be charge-sheeted if targets were not achieved by June 30 and directed the assistant commissioner to hold daily meetings with revenue officers to ensure completion of assigned targets.
She also stressed improving cleanliness standards in Tandlianwala city and ordered removal of encroachments from roads, including the canal-side road and other major highways.
She directed the officials to plant ornamental trees for improving appearance of the city by painting curbstones and beautifying public spaces so that visible improvement could be witnessed in the urban environment.
She instructed the assistant commissioner to focus on resolving public issues at the tehsil level to save citizens from travelling long distances for redressal of complaints.
She said that she was visiting tehsils across the division on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz and urged officers to fully realize their responsibilities to avoid strict administrative action.
