Commissioner directs transparent implementation of ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ programme

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia has directed departments to ensure swift, transparent, and merit-based implementation of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s flagship “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar”

programme, emphasizing that land should be allotted to all successful applicants selected

through the balloting process without unnecessary delay.

He issued these directions while chairing a review meeting at the Commissioner Office to assess the progress of the initiative.

The meeting reviewed various aspects of the programme, including the scrutiny of successful applicants selected through the computerized balloting process, land allotment, financial assistance, field operations, and the overall implementation of the project. Officials from the relevant departments briefed the Commissioner on the progress made so far.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia described the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” programme as a transformative initiative aimed at promoting economic prosperity, agricultural development, and employment opportunities for the people of Cholistan.

He said the Punjab government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of the programme reach genuinely deserving beneficiaries through a transparent and merit-based process. He directed all concerned departments to perform their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and full accountability. The Commissioner instructed officials to complete the scrutiny of all successful applicants at the earliest so that eligible beneficiaries could receive possession of the allotted agricultural land without delay.

The meeting also formulated a strategy for continuous monitoring of the project's progress, strengthening coordination among the relevant departments, and ensuring the timely resolution of implementation challenges. To further improve oversight, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia announced the formation of a special monitoring committee that will regularly review every stage of the programme, monitor implementation, assess progress, and recommend immediate corrective measures whenever required.
