CM grieved over death of Altaf Hussain Qureshi

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of veteran journalist, renowned writer and editor of urdu Digest, Altaf Hussain Qureshi.

In her condolence message on Saturday, the chief minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the deceased for his valuable services to journalism and literature.

She said the journalistic contributions of Altaf Hussain Qureshi would always be remembered, adding that he was a distinguished writer, prose stylist and columnist whose work earned wide respect in literary and journalistic circles.

Maryam Nawaz said his death had created a void in Urdu journalism that would be felt for a long time, and prayed for the elevation of his ranks and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
