CM Bugti directs to improve quality of education in Balochistan's universities

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday directed that all necessary steps should be completed immediately to improve the quality of education in universities and especially to strengthen important fields like Information Technology and Computer Science.

He said the provincial government believed in practical and effective measures for the promotion of higher education, improvement in the efficiency of universities and provision of educational facilities to students in line with the requirements of the modern era.

He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting held to resolve the problems faced by the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Makran Panjgur and improve the quality of teaching.

In the meeting, important decisions were taken regarding the immediate and permanent solution of the Department of Computer Sciences.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem, Secretary Higher Education Muhammad Saleh Baloch, while the Vice Chancellor of the University of Makran Panjgur, Professor Dr.

It was decided in the meeting that a summary for the appointment of a PhD level chairman and two relevant lecturers in the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Makran Panjgur will be sent without delay.

Along with this, the appointment of permanent and regular teaching staff in the department will also be ensured as soon as possible so that the teaching process can be made effective and standardized.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed during the meeting that all necessary steps should be completed immediately to improve the quality of education in universities and especially to strengthen important fields like Information Technology and Computer Science.

He said that equipping the youth of Balochistan with modern knowledge was among the top priorities of the provincial government and no delay or negligence would be tolerated in achieving this goal.

The government was implementing practical and lasting reforms for permanent solutions to the problems being faced by educational institutions.
