CCPO announces cricket match between police-media, PPC’s Hope Ramazan Sports Gala enters final stages

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) The ongoing “Hope Ramazan Sports Gala” at Peshawar Press Club has entered its final and decisive stages, in which a large number of journalists are participating with enthusiasm.

On Friday night, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed and SSP Operations Farhan Khan were special guests of the event.

Peshawar Press Club officials, members of the governing body, sports committee and organizers were also present on the occasion.

Peshawar Press Club President M Riaz, General Secretary Alamgir Khan and Sports Committee Chairman Kashifuddin Syed supervised the competitions.

In sports competitions, Zeeshan Liaquat performed brilliantly in the snooker final and won the title, while Shahzad Ahmed was declared the winner in the carrom board competition.

Aftab Ahmed won the first position in the table tennis competition. Arif Yousafzai won the semi-final of chess and qualified for the final.

Similarly, in the Ludo competition, Irshad Ali, Asfandyar Anjum, Hassan Ali and Muhammad Ali won their matches and qualified for the next stage.

In badminton, Wajid Shahzad and Asad Sabri, Irfan Musazai and Ali Sheikh, Yasir Ali and Shahzad Rashid won.

They also played an exhibition match of badminton with journalists and actively participated in the activities of the sports gala and encouraged the players.

On this occasion, CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed, appreciating the sports passion of journalists, announced the organization of a cricket match between the police and the media.

He said that all preparations for the night cricket match have been completed at the Police Lines and lights have also been installed in the ground.

He said that an interesting and friendly cricket match will be organized between the police and the media soon.
