BMC Hospital revamp plan aims to deliver modern healthcare in Balochistan

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Secretary Health Balochistan Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai chaired a meeting at Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH) Quetta to review ongoing reforms, service delivery improvements, and the hospital’s revamping plan. The session was attended by Principal Dr. Raz Muhammad, Medical Superintendent Dr. Naseem Katkizai, heads of departments, senior doctors, and relevant officials.

The meeting focused on enhancing medical facilities, ensuring timely patient care, upgrading modern equipment, and strengthening administrative performance. Detailed discussions were held on the responsibilities and performance standards of Heads of Departments (HODs) and Heads of Units (HOUs) to guarantee efficient and quality healthcare services.

Addressing participants, Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai emphasized that BMCH is one of the province’s largest teaching and treatment institutions, serving thousands of patients daily.

He noted that the ongoing reforms aim not only to improve medical facilities but also to strengthen discipline, accountability, and professional standards within the hospital.

He directed officials and faculty members to ensure that no negligence in patient care would be tolerated, urging all departments to work in a coordinated manner to enhance performance. Panizai further highlighted that effective monitoring systems are being introduced to ensure cleanliness, availability of medicines, emergency services, staff attendance, and patient-friendly behavior.

Participants shared their suggestions to support the reform process and improve healthcare delivery. Secretary Health reaffirmed that the Balochistan Health Department is utilizing all available resources to provide modern and quality medical facilities to the public, with the goal of transforming BMCH into a model healthcare institution.
