Balochistan launches business skills competition with 600 youth participants

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) The Balochistan Youth Socio-Economic Development Program has inaugurated the province’s largest business skills competition, bringing together 600 young participants from across the province. Under the banner of the Balochistan Skills Competition, young entrepreneurs are showcasing their ideas, products, marketing strategies, and business expertise across five different categories.

The competition offers significant incentives: the winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 300,000 along with a trophy, while runner-up teams will be awarded Rs. 200,000 and trophies. In the individual categories, winners will be granted Rs. 60,000, with runner-ups receiving Rs. 40,000.

Organized by the Directorate of Youth Affairs Balochistan, the program has been included in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) under the province’s youth policy, following the special initiative of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The initiative aims to empower young people and strengthen their role in the province’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director Youth Affairs Ilyas Baloch emphasized that empowering the youth is central to the provincial government’s vision. He noted that the program is designed to prepare young people to take on leadership roles in the future, ensuring that Balochistan’s next generation is equipped with the skills and confidence to drive progress.
