Makkah, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) The Saudi Ministry of Health has launched a comprehensive medical guidebook in eight major global languages, prominently including urdu, to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of hundreds of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims performing the annual Hajj ritual.

According to officials , the handbook titled "Hajj in Health"—available in both digital and print formats—is designed to provide scientific and medical guidelines to Pakistani pilgrims. The directives span the entire duration of the pilgrimage, from pre-departure preparations to their stay in Makkah and Madinah, up until the completion of the core Hajj rituals.

The guidebook places special emphasis on coping with the extreme weather conditions of Makkah and the holy sites (Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah). It offers detailed protocols on avoiding heat exhaustion, protecting against heatstrokes, and utilizing face masks in crowded areas to prevent respiratory infections. Furthermore, it outlines essential food safety measures to protect Pakistani pilgrims from food borne illnesses and gastrointestinal complications during their travels.

Formulated by medical experts, the manual also incorporates accessible first-aid instructions and rapid-response techniques for unexpected medical emergencies. These instructions aim to enable initial intervention before formal paramedical or emergency rescue teams arrive on the scene.

Dedicated medical protocols have been introduced for high-risk individuals among the Pakistani contingent, including elderly pilgrims, women, and those living with pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, or cardiovascular ailments, ensuring they complete their spiritual obligations with minimal medical complications.

Saudi officials stated that to eliminate linguistic barriers, the health guidelines have been published in Urdu, Arabic, English, French, Persian, Indonesian, Turkish, and Malay across various online portals and mobile applications. This smart healthcare initiative constitutes a core component of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to guarantee a safe, healthy, and infection-free environment for the guests of Allah.
