DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) The district administration has sealed 10 shops and imposed Rs107,000 fine on several violaters during ongoing crackdown against profiteers.
As part of the crackdown Assistant Commissioner Syed Muhammad Arslan conducted surprise inspections in various commercial areas of the city, including Garh Mandi, Chota Bazaar, and Bannu Road, to review prices and quality of essential food items.
According to the administration, during the inspection, meat and chicken shops, grocery stores, milk sellers, sweet shops, and bakeries were thoroughly inspected.
Several shopkeepers were found involved in different violations.
It says multiple outlets failed to display official price lists, while some were using faulty and inaccurate weighing scales.
Cases of overcharging above government-fixed rates and selling underweight items were also confirmed.
As a result of the violations, 10 shops were sealed on the spot, and a total fine of Rs107,000 was imposed.
The Assistant Commissioner warned that no irregularities against public interest would be tolerated and that price control operations would continue without discrimination to ensure maximum relief for citizens.
The district administration has urged residents to report cases of overpricing or underweight sales to the relevant authorities so that prompt action can be taken
