QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Senior educationist Zahid Jan Mandokhail has urged the Balochistan government to intensify efforts to eliminate child labour and ensure access to quality education for every child up to 16 years of age.
Speaking on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour, Mandokhail emphasized that education is the most powerful tool to secure Pakistan’s future.
Mandokhail, CEO of ScholarTech, stressed the need for a robust awareness campaign to encourage parents to send their children to schools rather than workplaces. He also called for the promotion of vocational training programs to equip youth with technical skills in reputed institutions, thereby producing a quality workforce for the country.
Highlighting the importance of modern learning, Zahid Mandokhail underscored the integration of advanced technologies into the academic framework. He emphasized that preparing students for global opportunities requires equipping them with technology-driven skills aligned with international standards. He specifically pointed to AI, Robotics, Coding, STEM education, and Digital skills as essential fields shaping the future national economy.
Mandokhail noted that provinces like Balochistan hold immense untapped talent and potential. With modern educational opportunities, he said, the province could produce future scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>“Every child empowered through education is a contribution to national stability, security, and economic prosperity,” he remarked.
He urged policymakers, educational institutions, parents, and the private sector to unite for an “educational revolution” that prepares the next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
Educationists argue that child labour not only robs children of their childhood but also deprives the nation of its future workforce. By keeping children away from schools, society loses the opportunity to nurture doctors, engineers, teachers, and innovators who could contribute to national progress.
Mandokhail emphasized that skill-based education can provide young people with practical abilities that prepare them for decent employment. He further said that children should be trained in safe and structured institutions where they can learn trades aligned with modern industry needs.
Experts highlighted that investment in technical education is critical for reducing poverty. When children are equipped with marketable skills, they can break the cycle of poverty. This approach not only uplifts individual households but also strengthens the national economy.
Mandokhail further stressed that integrating digital literacy into schools is essential. In today’s global economy, knowledge of emerging technologies is as important as traditional subjects.
