18 killed, 1,485 injured in Punjab road accidents

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) At least 18 people lost their lives and 1,485 others sustained injuries in 1,302 road traffic crashes reported across Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122) on Thursday.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said, of the injured, 649 victims with serious injuries were shifted to various hospitals, while 836 people with minor injuries were provided medical treatment at the scene by rescue medical teams

The analysis showed that 862 drivers, 56 underage drivers, 152 pedestrians and 489 passengers were among the victims of the accidents.

Lahore recorded the highest number of road traffic crashes, with 230 incidents affecting 278 people, followed by Multan with 75 accidents and 78 victims, and Faisalabad with 69 accidents involving 81 victims.

According to data, the accidents involved 1,372 motorcycles, 110 auto-rickshaws, 147 cars, 27 vans, eight passenger buses, 41 trucks and 53 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts.
