Wildlife Rangers recover bear-in-chains, shifted to zoo

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) Wildlife Rangers recovered a black bear from the captivity of a person where the wild animal was found tied in chains with his teeth and nails removed to prepare him for notorious fight with furious breeds of dogs.

Assistant director wildlife rangers Muzaffargarh Abdur Rahman said that his team got the black bear freed from the captivity in an operation conducted on information received from sources. The bear has since been shifted to a mini zoo operational in model town, Dera Ghazi Khan city for his proper care, saving it from the bad treatment of its owner.

The owner had fled the scene, however, wildlife department has started legal proceedings against him under relevant provisions of law.
