FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Managing Director (MD) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saqib Raza said that water conservation today is imperative to save future generations. Hence, the people should make water conservation a daily habit and treat every drop as a precious national resource.
In his special message issued in connection with World Water Day, he described water as a priceless natural blessing and emphasized that preventing its wastage is a collective national responsibility. “If we fail to value this resource today, coming generations may face acute water shortages and serious difficulties”, he cautioned.
Highlighting the significance of World Water Day, he said that the day serves as a reminder for individuals and communities to adopt responsible behavior in water usage. Water conservation must be integrated into everyday life to ensure sustainable availability for all, he added.
He said that during the recent Eid holidays, water supply in Faisalabad is being maintained according to a scheduled system, with supply being ensured for three hours each in the morning and evening.
He urged the citizens to adhere to the official schedule and avoid running private motors outside designated timings as such practices could lead to contamination in the water supply system.
“Using motors without following the supply schedule may cause impurities to enter the pipelines, posing health risks to consumers”, he said and advised the residents to act responsibly in the larger public interest.
He further said that special focus was being placed on the timely repair of leakage points and improvement of the overall water supply system to minimize losses.
WASA teams are actively working to ensure efficient distribution and reduce wastage through technical interventions and maintenance measures, he added.
He also called upon the citizens to play their role at the household level by using water judiciously. He advised the people to avoid unnecessary wastage while washing dishes and clothes, performing ablution, and bathing. “The use of buckets instead of pipes can significantly reduce water consumption”, he added.
Emphasizing the broader importance of water conservation, Saqib Raza said that saving water is not only a civic duty but also a moral, social and religious obligation.
He urged every individual to contribute toward this national cause so that clean water could be made available to each household.
In case of any complaints related to water supply or sanitation, the people can contact WASA helpline at 1334 for prompt assistance, he added.
