WAPDA Hydro Union Internal Elections launches

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA has formally launched its internal party elections in Larkana, where candidates from various offices submitted their nomination papers to the election commission at Abdul Latif Nizamani Labor Hall.

Candidates from Sub-Division Offices, R.O Offices, Division Offices, Circle Offices and several other departments participated in the nomination process. Polling is scheduled to take place on Sunday in the districts of Larkana and Qambar Shahdadkot.

The election process is being supervised by Provincial General Secretary Iqbal Ahmed Khan and SEPCO Regional Chairman Nisar Sheikh. In several areas, candidates were elected unopposed, while democratic polling continues in other offices.

Chairman Khurram Memon and his panel were declared successful unopposed in Jinnah Bagh Sub-Division.

Similarly, Waseem Jatoi and his team in Sheikh Zaid Sub-Division, Hadi Bakhsh Jatoi in Chandka Sub-Division, Naheed Jatoi in Empire Sub-Division, and Sarfraz Abro along with his team at the Circle Training Center were also declared successful. However, contests for the posts of Vice Chairman and Joint Secretary are still underway in Sheikh Zaid Sub-Division.

The provincial secretary further said that Central President Abdul Latif Nizamani had earlier announced during a central executive meeting held at Lahore Labor Hall that union elections for the 2026–2028 term would be conducted across all provinces of the country to uphold democratic values. As part of that process, the election campaign in Sindh has now commenced from the SEPCO region, where workers are actively participating with enthusiasm in the democratic process.
