ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Friday said that the government has decided to complete abolition of customs duty on more than 100 categories of raw materials used in the local manufacturing of medicines for cancer and other diseases, aiming to make life-saving treatments more affordable and accessible across the country.
Presenting the Federal Budget 2026-27 in the National Assembly, the minister said that its government commitment to equitable healthcare and public welfare remains unwavering in the country.
He informed the house that recognizing the significant financial and emotional burden that cancer places on Pakistani families, the measure has been introduced under the National Tariff Policy 2025-30.

He added that the duty exemption would support local pharmaceutical production while helping reduce treatment costs for patients suffering from serious illnesses.
