UoS marks Medical Laboratory Professionals Week with awareness drive

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) The University of Sargodha (UoS) on Tuesday celebrated Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026 with an awareness walk and a series of activities aimed at highlighting the role of laboratory professionals in healthcare.

The event was organized by the Department of Allied Health Sciences under the theme “Lab Story:To Infinity and Beyond for Our Patients” with active participation from students of Medical Laboratory Sciences.

The program featured an awareness walk, a keynote address and a cake cutting ceremony.

Addressing the participants,Department Chairman,Dr.

Muhammad Riaz emphasized the critical role of laboratory professionals in ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

He termed laboratory diagnostics the backbone of the modern healthcare system and paid tribute to professionals serving in the field.

He also pointed to emerging challenges and future opportunities in laboratory technology, stressing the need for continuous professional development.

The event concluded with a cake cutting ceremony,reaffirming the importance of recognizing the contributions of medical laboratory professionals.
