University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences observes World Veterinary Day

The University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore observed World Veterinary Day with the theme of “Veterinarians

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore observed World Veterinary Day with the theme of “Veterinarians: Guardians of Food and Health,” to create awareness about the welfare of animals in the community and showcasing the contributions of veterinarians to public health and admiration of their role for essential work among communities and stakeholders on Thursday at City Campus.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani (Izaz-i-Fazeelat) led the walk while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science/Principal Officer students Affairs Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a large number of faculty members, students from Special Animals & Veterinary Emergency Relief Society (SAVERS) and Vet Crescent Societies and staff participated.

Similar activities were also held in the other campuses of UVAS to observe World Veterinary Day in befitting manner.

The walk started from Vice-Chancellor office and culminated at UVAS Out Door Hospital where Prof Dr Masood Rabbani inaugurated a free veterinary camp, cut a cake and signed a pledge on the wall.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani said animals are an important part of our environment/ecosystem and God has chosen us to fulfill a noble purpose to love animals and livestock and play a key role in their treatment and welfare.
