University of Education: 1,068 laptops distributed among students

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) During a ceremony at the University of education (UoE), 1,068 students were provided with laptops based on their academic performance. As many as 1,068 students received laptops at the ceremony based on their academic performance.

The ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Akif Anwar Chaudhry, while Prime Minister Youth Program Focal Person Fahad Shahbaz attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Fahad Shahbaz, focal person for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and a member of the Prime Minister’s National Youth Council, said the scheme aimed to equip young people with modern technology and enable them to contribute to national development.

He said over one million laptops had been distributed on merit during the past decade and added that youth development centres had been set up in 72 universities across the country to promote leadership and provide guidance to students.

On this occasion, emphasis was placed on promoting students' academic motivation and access to technology.
