Two retailers arrested for deducting commission from Ramadan Negheban cards

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Police on Saturday arrested two retailers for allegedly making unauthorized deductions from Ramadan Negheban Cards.

According to police,teams after a tip-off prompted an immediate investigation,arrested two retailers namely as Mehboob Ahmed and Shehzad Iqbal.

During the operation,authorities visited the retailers’ locations and spoke with cardholders,who alleged that commissions were being deducted under false pretenses.

Verification confirmed the deductions were unauthorized.

The district administration of Layyah said that it has intensified efforts to prevent illegal deductions from Negheban cards,aiming to ensure that benefits reach the intended recipients.

Officials warned that any retailer found engaging in such malpractice would face strict legal action.

Citizens have been urged to report irregularities with assurances of full transparency and follow-up.
