Two children suffering from kidney disease to be broght from Chilas for treatment: minister

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Saturday said that the Punjab government’s journey to serve suffering humanity was continuing under the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, adding that two patients from Chilas district would be shifted to Children’s Hospital Lahore for treatment.

According to details, 12-year-old Sanaullah, son of Sabir Hussain, and 14-year-old Attaullah, son of Sabir Hussain, residents of village Satnian in Tehsil and District Chilas, are suffering from hereditary kidney disease.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said that both patients were being transferred to Children’s Hospital Lahore for better medical treatment.

He added that two ambulances of Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi were currently present in the Kohistan area for this purpose.

The health minister said the ambulances would reach RHQ Chilas to receive the children and begin their transfer process.

Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical education Azmat Mahmood said the patients would later be shifted to Lahore under special medical supervision to ensure timely and quality healthcare facilities.

He said the department was in contact with the Deputy Commissioner Diamer regarding the smooth transfer of the patients.
