Two arrested over Fateh Jang murder; Police recover alleged weapon

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a man in the Fateh Jang area and recovered the alleged murder weapon during the investigation, officials said on Sunday.

According to police, the victim was gunned down in Dhoke Kanjan, Kamra, within the jurisdiction of Fateh Jang Police Station. A murder case was registered on the complaint of the deceased's son, after which District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mowara Khan, directed the formation of a special investigation team to trace and apprehend those responsible.

Investigators, employing modern forensic techniques alongside human intelligence, arrested the two accused, identified as Zeeshan and Kamran, sons of Abdul Rehman and residents of Dhoke Kanjan.

Police said the operation led to a significant breakthrough in the case within a short period.

Preliminary investigations suggested that the victim had allegedly been involved in a heated argument with the suspects' mother shortly before the incident. Police believe the accused harboured a grudge over the dispute and allegedly shot the victim in retaliation. During the investigation, officers also recovered the alleged murder weapon, a .30-bore pistol, from the possession of the prime suspect, Zeeshan. The investigation is continuing.
