SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) The district administration has put in place comprehensive security and healthcare arrangements for 9th Muharram, during which 67 mourning processions and 119 religious gatherings (Majalis) will be held across the district.
According to a spokesman for the Deputy Commissioner's Office, all processions and Majalis have been provided with three-tier security. Of the 67 processions, seven have been classified as Category A, 26 as Category B and 34 as Category C. Likewise, six of the 119 Majalis fall under Category A, 15 under Category B and 98 under Category C. All events will conclude before Fajr.
The spokesman said that CCTV cameras are being used to monitor all processions and gatherings, while the Muharram Control Room established at the Deputy Commissioner's Office has remained operational round the clock since 1st Muharram.

To facilitate mourners, water stalls and heatstroke relief camps have been set up along procession routes. Moreover, 12 mobile Clinics on Wheels staffed by doctors and paramedics will remain deployed across the district to provide immediate medical assistance. Four clinics will operate in Sialkot tehsil, three each in Daska and Pasrur, and two in Sambrial.
