BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) The staff of the Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, had been placed on high alert
as over 490 rescuers performed their duty at processions and gatherings held in connection
with Ashura.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to an official press release issued here, more than 490 rescuers and Rescue Mohafiz volunteers
had been deployed for Ashura duties as well as routine emergency response operations.
“A total of 33 ambulances, 51 rescue motorbikes, 7 fire vehicles, and 5 special rescue vehicles had been stationed across the district,” it said, adding that 49 Rescue Medical Posts had also been established at various locations throughout the district while Rescuers equipped with medical kits had been deployed near processions and mourning gatherings (Majalis) to provide immediate medical assistance if required.
