LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency Lahore Zone on Friday claimed to have busted an Afghan hawala-hundi network and arrested three more suspects in connection with an ongoing investigation into an illegal money transfer case.
According to an FIA spokesperson, significant progress was made in case No. 54/2026 under investigation by the FIA Commercial Banking Circle Lahore. Initially, two Afghan nationals were arrested, whose interrogation led to important disclosures regarding the network.
Acting on the information provided by the arrested suspects, FIA teams conducted further raids and apprehended three more accused, including a Pakistani citizen identified as Talha and two Afghan nationals, Najeeb and Naqeeb.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The spokesperson said account ledgers, deposit slips and other important evidence were recovered from their possession. A Pakistani passport belonging to the father of suspects Najeeb and Naqeeb was also seized during the operation.
The spokesperson said the arrested suspects were linked to an international hawala-hundi network involved in illegal financial transactions.
