LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Wednesday said that developing and sustaining a future-ready, intellectually astute and technologically proficient workforce was essential for meeting the demands of future warfare.
Addressing the participants in the 55th Pakistan Navy Staff Course at Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, the Naval Chief said that winning future wars required not only a reassessment of legacy warfighting concepts but also the cultivation of human resource capable of operating in an increasingly complex and technology-driven security environment. He highlighted the evolving nature of modern warfare and emerging maritime security threats, emphasizing that traditional military strategies must adapt to effectively address both conventional and non-conventional challenges.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf, reaffirming Pakistan Navy’s commitment to modernization, indigenization and jointness, urged the participants to further refine their strategic outlook and operational foresight to effectively respond to future challenges.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Discussing maritime challenges facing Pakistan, he observed that the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) remained fluid and contested due to changing geopolitical alignments and persistent power rivalries, which continued to influence the regional security environment.
The Naval Chief said that the effective execution of multidomain operations had become a key feature of contemporary warfighting concepts. He also highlighted various initiatives and development plans being pursued by Pakistan Navy in line with his vision of transforming the service into a formidable regional maritime force.
Congratulating the officers on the successful completion of the Staff Course, Admiral Naveed Ashraf advised them to remain meticulous, analytical, innovative and professionally competent in the discharge of their future responsibilities.
