Talagang administration acts against alleged misconduct in Road project, orders arrest and inquiry

TALAGANG, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) The Assistant Commissioner Talagang has taken strict action over alleged misuse of authority in a public development project, ordering the arrest of a police sub-inspector and initiating an inquiry against a revenue official, according to officials on Saturday.

During a field visit to the Chakwalyaan area, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Suleman Minhas inspected obstacles delaying the reconstruction of a 16.5-kilometre road, which has served as a key transport link for local residents for nearly four decades.

Preliminary findings suggested that a Naib Tehsildar had reportedly prepared an incorrect report under the influence of a police sub-inspector, allegedly attempting to alter the approved road alignment.

The report was later declared inaccurate after on-ground verification and subsequently cancelled by the administration.

Following the findings, Sub-Inspector Sagheer was arrested for allegedly obstructing a government development project and interfering in official duties, with instructions issued for the registration of an FIR. Authorities have also ordered a departmental inquiry into the Naib Tehsildar to determine any negligence or misconduct.

Local residents welcomed the action, describing it as a strong demonstration of accountability and rule-based governance. Officials confirmed that after removal of the reported hurdles, reconstruction work on the road has resumed and is expected to improve connectivity in the area.
