Sukkur district administration intensifies efforts to provide maximum relief during Ramazan

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) To ensure the availability of essential commodities and maintain price stability during the holy month of Ramazan, the Sukkur district administration has taken effective measures. prices of flour, rice, ghee, and other basic food items have been fixed according to the official rate list, while strict market monitoring is underway to prevent hoarding, profiteering, and black marketing.

According to the handout issued here on Sunday, the deputy commissioner of Sukkur and all Assistant Commissioners are regularly visiting markets to ensure strict compliance with official rates. Complaint cells have been established at major commercial centers for prompt redressal of public grievances, and subsidized ration stalls have been activated to provide relief to citizens.

According to details of actions taken so far, 04 subsidized stalls have been set up, benefiting 1,390 individuals. The administration has inspected 313 shops/stalls, imposed fines totaling Rs 241,000 on violators, and sealed one shop. Additionally, 06 complaint centers have been established.

The district administration reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the availability of essential commodities at official rates during Ramadan. Indiscriminate action will continue against elements involved in overpricing and hoarding. Citizens have been advised to contact the nearest complaint cell in case of any grievances for timely action.
