Storms, lightning, heavy rains leave three dead, 16 injured in KP

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Wednesday released a report on human and property losses caused by strong winds, lightning strikes and heavy rainfall across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

According to the report, recent rains and flash floods have so far claimed three lives and left 16 others injured across the province.

The deceased included two children and one woman, while the injured comprised five men and 11 children.

PDMA reported that 34 houses sustained partial damage due to the adverse weather conditions.

The affected districts included Khyber, Lower Dir, Mardan, Shangla, Bajaur, Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral and Upper Dir.

PDMA said monitoring of the situation was continuing and relevant authorities remained engaged in response and relief efforts.
