MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah has said that all law enforcement and security agencies are fully prepared to maintain peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram, ensuring the safety of citizens and the smooth conduct of religious observances across the district.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Aiwan-e-Sahafat Mirpurkhas team on Wednesday, he said that Mirpurkhas Police, in coordination with Pakistan Rangers, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and other agencies, recently conducted a joint flag march to boost public confidence and demonstrate operational readiness. He said the exercise was aimed at reassuring citizens while sending a clear message that any attempt to disturb peace would be firmly dealt with under the law.
The SSP said that around 7,000 security personnel will be deployed across the district during Muharram, with additional support provided on the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Sindh.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He added that coordinated arrangements have been finalized with the Special Branch and other institutions to ensure effective monitoring and rapid response mechanisms.
He further said that out of 64 Imambargahs in the district, 23 have been declared sensitive, while 107 mourning processions are scheduled. He added that comprehensive security arrangements, including rooftop deployment, pickets, and CCTV surveillance, have been implemented along procession routes, which will be monitored through command and control systems.
The SSP also confirmed that a District Command and Control Room, CCTV Monitoring Room, and Emergency Response Room have been established to ensure swift action in case of any incident. He emphasized that under the policy guidelines of the Sindh Police, an integrated security framework has been put in place to ensure immediate response and effective handling of any untoward situation during Muharram.
