SSG commando laid to rest with full military honors in Jaranwala

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Thousands of mourners attended the funeral prayers of Pakistan Army's Special Services Group (SSG) commando Muhammad Siddique, who was martyred during an operation against terrorists in Balochistan.

The funeral was held in his native village, Chak No. 34-GB near Jaranwala, where Muhammad Siddique, son of Ishaq, was laid to rest with full military honours. Senior military and civil officials, relatives, and residents paid tribute to his sacrifice.

The martyr's body was brought to his ancestral village, where grieving family members, relatives, and a large number of residents received the coffin. People showered flower petals on the casket as a mark of respect.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour and a ceremonial salute before the burial.

Speaking on the occasion, family members said Muhammad Siddique had brought honour to the family by sacrificing his life in the defence of the country during the fight against terrorism.

Later, Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry visited the martyr's residence to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family.

Speaking to the family, the minister said the nation's martyrs were the pride of Pakistan and that their sacrifices had strengthened the country's foundations. He also paid tribute to the courage and resilience of the martyr's family, saying the families of martyrs were a valuable national asset whose patience and steadfastness deserved the highest respect and appreciation.
