BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority(PFA) on Saturday sealed a spice manufacturing unit in Rizwan Town’s Mujahid Colony on Saturday after laboratory tests confirmed adulteration in its products, while police registered a case against the owner and detained a person found on the premises.
According to details, a PFA team inspected Amjad Pakiza Foods, Street No 1,Rizwan Town near Dera Peer Iqbal Shah and collected samples of various spices for laboratory analysis.
The report confirmed the presence of banned coloring agents in red chilli powder, while turmeric powder also failed food safety standards and was found to contain substances harmful to human health.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Following the findings, a joint operation by the Punjab Food Authority and City Police led to the sealing of the factory and suspension of production activities.
Officials said around 15 kilograms of adulterated red chilli powder and 10 kilograms of substandard turmeric powder recovered from the site were destroyed on the spot.
Factory owner Amjad Ali was not present at the time of the raid. However, Muhammad Sunny, found on the premises, was taken into custody.
Police said a case has been registered against the owner under the Punjab Food Authority(PFA) Act and other relevant provisions, while further investigations were underway.
