LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has completed preparations for a large-scale cleanliness operation across the city ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, with special focus on cattle markets and surrounding areas.
To review sanitation arrangements, Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din visited the Manawan cattle market and several city areas along with Deputy CEOs Altaf Ansari and Mubeen Ahsan. During the visit, cleaning operational teams briefed the officials on cleanliness measures being carried out at cattle markets established across Lahore. Officials informed the the DG that waste generated at the markets is being removed on a daily basis, while water sprinkling is being ensured through washer vehicles and washer rickshaws to maintain cleanliness and reduce dust.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The DG also visited the Suthra Punjab camp at the Manawan cattle market, where he met sanitation workers and inspected the quality of waste bags being provided for Eid cleanliness operations. The agency will distribute 1.5 million eco-friendly waste bags free of cost in Lahore to facilitate the proper disposal of animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha.
Babar Sahib Din further inspected cleanliness arrangements at Quaid-i-Azam Interchange, Dera Gujran, Mominpura, Batapur, GT Road and adjoining areas.
Praising sanitation workers performing duties in intense heat, he directed the authorities concerned to ensure the uninterrupted supply of cold drinking water for workers deployed at cattle markets and other operational points during the Eid cleanliness drive.
