SMEDA Youth Entrepreneurship Programme completes 12 awareness seminars

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), under the ongoing Youth Entrepreneurship Programme, completed a series of awareness seminars on Youth Entrepreneurship and Career Opportunities in 12 higher education institutions of Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad.

A senior SMEDA official disclosed to media here Wednesday that these seminars were organised, in line with the SME development vision of the Prime Minister, at Sialkot Institute, University of Central Punjab (UCP) Faisalabad, Rifah International University, GC Women's University, Beacon House National University of Technology, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Faisalabad, UCP Sialkot and The Green International University.

The overall coordination and administrative supervision of these programmes was done by SMEDA through its Business Support Department that played a key role in coordinating with the respective universities, scheduling and successfully organizing awareness seminars besides deputing a competent resource person.

A large number of students, he said, attended the seminars and received detailed guidance on business opportunities, opening a startup, business planning, government support, financial facilities and market access.

During the respective question and answer sessions, the students had a lively discussion on the practical aspects of business.

According to SMEDA official, promoting entrepreneurial orientation among the youth will not only help in eliminating unemployment but also play an important role in the sustainable development of the country’s economy.
