Sources say the estimated cost of the project is approximately $243 million
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 8th, 2026) The Sindh government has completed planning for a 500-megawatt floating solar power project at Keenjhar Lake in Sindh as part of efforts to expand renewable energy generation and reduce dependence on imported fuel.
The official sources said that the project will be developed on Keenjhar Lake and is expected to produce around 861.91 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.
The estimated cost of the project is approximately $243 million.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at promoting clean and sustainable energy while helping reduce the country’s reliance on imported fossil fuels and easing pressure on the energy sector.
