LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Saggian Factory Owners Welfare Association (SFOWA) Thursday held a consultative meeting to discuss ongoing issues related to Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA).
The meeting was attended by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheemur Rehman Saigol as chief guest, and Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, former president Muhammad Ali Mian, and Executive Committee Members Rana Nisar and Shabaan Akhtar. SFOWA office-bearers including Malik Ameen, Hafiz Tanveer, Haji Liaqat, Baig Shafiq, Haji Iqbal and Chaudhry Akram, and other prominent leaders were also present
Addressing the meeting, LCCI President Faheemur Rehman Saigol said, the industrial units operating in Saggian should be granted the status of an industrial zone. He said the Lahore Chamber is fully committed to resolving the issues faced by the industrial community. “We have come with a firm resolve that the Saggian industry will be given its rightful status,” he stated.
“We will not rest until this issue is resolved.” He added that the Lahore Chamber stands firmly with the Saggian industrial sector, stressing that the protection of business community rights remains the core mission of the Chamber.
Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh appreciated the efforts of the Saggian industry representatives, noting that they have played a positive role in highlighting the issues effectively. He also stated that discussions with RUDA are ongoing to find a workable solution.
Former LCCI president Muhammad Ali Mian said that the concerns of the Saggian industrial community are genuine and must be addressed on a priority basis through coordinated efforts with all relevant authorities.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of continued coordination between the Lahore Chamber and the Saggian industrial community to resolve outstanding matters and ensure the protection of industrial rights.
