MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has issued a strict ultimatum to its contractors to ensure exemplary sanitation arrangements across the city in preparation for Eid-ul-Adha, as part of efforts to provide a clean and healthy environment to citizens.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MWMC, Zulfiqar Ahmad, conducted an early-morning inspection of various urban areas to personally review field performance and monitor cleanliness standards.
During the visit, he assessed sanitation operations at Nishtar Colony, Shadman Colony, Tariq Road, and Abdali Road, expressing dissatisfaction over lapses observed at certain locations.
The CEO directed contractors and operational staff to immediately improve waste collection efficiency, street sweeping, and overall service delivery. He emphasized that no negligence would be tolerated, particularly in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha when sanitation demands significantly increase.
Special instructions were also issued to enhance cleanliness conditions at Qasoor Gardazi Road, Shaheen Market, and several interior-city areas, where sanitation teams were ordered to maintain continuous monitoring and rapid response mechanisms.
Zulfiqar Ahmad reiterated that ensuring a clean environment for residents remains the top priority of the Waste Management Company. He warned contractors that strict action would be taken against poor performance while urging field teams to work with dedication to meet cleanliness targets under the special Eid sanitation plan.
The company has also finalized a comprehensive cleanliness strategy aimed at maintaining high sanitation standards throughout the festive period.
