Seven vehicles challaned for overcharging

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Strict monitoring of public transport continued after Eid holidays.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid, the District Regional Transport Authority conducted operations at various checkpoints on the third day of Eid.

During the crackdown, 67 vehicles were inspected.

Fines worth Rs 20,500 were imposed on nine vehicles for overcharging, seven were challaned, and two were impounded.

Additionally, excess fares were refunded to 15 passengers.

Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid said exploitation of passengers would not be tolerated, adding that strict action against overcharging and overloading would continue.
