Security situation in province reviewed; Tribute paid to martyrs

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti presided over the 26th meeting of State Defense Conference (Hardening of the State Conference) in Quetta on Wednesday and reviewed the overall security situation of the province, ongoing measures against terrorism and mutual cooperation between Federal and provincial institutions for peace and stability.

The forum expressed satisfaction over the progress of the joint Operation Shaban (OP SHABAN) of the Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan and Police in Balochistan and reiterated its resolve to continue operations against terrorist elements more effectively.

The participants of the meeting paid tribute to the martyrs of Hanna Aurak and Mangi Dam and expressed their determination that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the anti-terrorism operations could continue with full force for the peace and stability of Balochistan.

While addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Bugti said that terrorism was a national problem, to which the political and military leadership of the country was working jointly with the support of the people.

He said that the miscreants and their facilitators would be brought to their logical conclusion and there is no place for anti-state elements in Balochistan.

The Chief Minister said that reform measures were being taken to make governance more effective in the province so that the functioning of state institutions improved and better services were provided to the people.

The Chief Minister said that the provincial government, in full coordination with the security forces, was not only paying full attention to the establishment of law and order but also to the development and growth projects of Balochistan, especially in remote and backward areas, as sustainable peace and development were interlinked.

The meeting was attended by representatives of federal and provincial institutions, law enforcement departments and security forces including Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Coast Guard, Police, FIA, Customs and other relevant institutions.

At the end of the meeting, it was reiterated that all relevant institutions would continue to fulfill their responsibilities under mutual cooperation and a coordinated strategy for peace, stability of state writ and protection of the people in Balochistan.
