Security beefed up in DI Khan ahead of Ramazan's last Ashra, Youm-e-Ali (R.A)

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) The district police have finalized security arrangements for the last Ashra of Ramazan, Youm-e-Ali, and the upcoming Eid to ensure law and order and provide a safe environment for citizens.

In this regard, on the instructions of District Police Officer Dera Ismail Khan Ziauddin Ahmed, a Crime and Ramazan Security meeting was held under the chairmanship of SP City Division Murtaza Khan Bangash at the City Sub-Division, which was attended by all DSPs, SHOs, the DSP Security, traffic officials, and officers from other relevant departments.

During the session, the SP City directed officers to enhance checking of suspicious vehicles and individuals in view of the increased public activity during the final days of Ramazan. The officers were also instructed to launch public awareness campaigns and inform citizens about the dangers of aerial firing.

The meeting also stressed the need to further strengthen security at markets and other public places. SP City instructed officials to make the patrolling system in bazaars more effective and take special measures to prevent crimes such as pickpocketing.

He also directed the deployment of plainclothes personnel in busy shopping malls and markets, while ensuring the availability of lady police officers where required.

Special attention was given to security arrangements at Masajid and other places of worship, particularly for large gatherings on Juma-tul-Wida. The comprehensive security planning was also ordered for places of worship and mourning gatherings of the Shia community during Ramazan.

The meeting also reviewed security preparations for the 21st of Ramazan, Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA). In this regard, clear instructions were issued to the District Security Branch, DSP Security, DSP City, and SHOs of City and Cantt areas to ensure strict vigilance and prevent any potential security lapse.

At the conclusion, the SP City directed all officers to ensure full implementation of the security plan in their respective areas so that citizens can observe the last Ashra of Ramazan in a peaceful and secure environment.
