ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) The Supreme Court of Pakistan remained fully functional on Wednesday, continuing judicial work at its Principal Seat in Islamabad and branch registries across the country, and disposed of a total of 122 cases despite security-related restrictions and temporary access difficulties in the Federal capital.
According to an official press release, one bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan functioned at the Principal Seat, Islamabad, with minimal staff arrangements. The bench also heard cases from the Quetta Branch Registry through video-link technology and disposed of eight cases.
At the Peshawar Branch Registry, three benches remained operational and collectively disposed of 49 cases. Meanwhile, two benches at the Lahore Branch Registry heard matters and disposed of 65 cases.
The court’s ability to ensure simultaneous functioning across multiple registries, supported by adaptive arrangements and technology-enabled hearings, reflects its growing institutional capacity to maintain uninterrupted justice delivery, uphold judicial efficiency, and facilitate litigants even in challenging circumstances.
