LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Punjab Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the provincial government is spending more than Rs20 billion annually under the Honorarium for Imams of Mosques Program.

He stated this while presiding over the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Honorarium for Imams of Mosques Program held at the Home Department on Wednesday.

During the meeting, various agenda items were discussed and the honorarium program was reviewed from multiple aspects. Concerned officials also briefed participants on the progress and implementation of the initiative.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said that honorariums have been disbursed to mosque imams across Punjab, appreciating the efforts of all officers involved in completing the process.

On the occasion, Secretary Home Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi said that the Home Department is ensuring smooth processing of the program and that complaints related to the initiative are being addressed promptly through an online portal.

The meeting was attended by DG Auqaf Anees ur Rehman, Special Secretary Home Faisal Farid, COO Bank of Punjab Naufal Dawood, DIG CTD, Additional Secretary Abdul Rauf, DIG Special Branch, AIG Operations, Additional Secretary Internal Security Maham Asif Malik, Deputy Secretary Revenue Department, officials of the Punjab Information Technology Board, Director Law Department Shahid Imtiaz, and other concerned officers.
