SAI pays tribute to Lt. Col. Shahzada Gulfraz Shaheed, proposes fund for Martyrs’ families

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) The SITE Association of Industry (SAI) organized a condolence reference to pay glowing tribute to Lt. Col. Shahzada Gulfraz Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom along with a fellow officer while fighting the Indian proxy group “Khwarij” in Bannu District.

Members of the industrial community from the SITE area gathered to honour the fallen officer and reaffirmed their unwavering belief that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs would never go in vain. They expressed confidence that the country’s enemies would face defeat on every front and reiterated that the business community, along with the entire nation, stands firmly behind the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Lt. Col. Shahzada Gulfraz was remembered as a courageous and professional commanding officer who led his unit from the frontline. He had previously served as Wing Commander of 92-Wing Rangers, stationed adjacent to the SAI office, where he earned widespread respect for his leadership and dedication.

The condolence meeting was attended by Wing Commander 63-Wing Rangers Lt. Col. Haroon Sarfraz, SAI Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala, Patron Saleem Parekh, President Abdul Rehman Fudda, former President Ahmed Azeem Alvi, Muhammad Kamran Arbi, Anwar Aziz, Abdul Hadi, Muhammad Riaz Dhedhi, Abdul Rasheed, Saleem Nagaria, Muhammad Hanif Tawakkal, and members of the Executive Committee.

On the occasion, Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala proposed the establishment of a special fund for the families of martyrs of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

He urged the business community to take responsibility for supporting the families of those who lay down their lives in the line of duty. Paying tribute to the Armed Forces for safeguarding the country’s geographical boundaries, he emphasized that the entire nation must remain grateful for their sacrifices, adding that no country can survive without a strong defense.

Earlier, SAI President Abdul Rehman Fudda highlighted the exceptional services rendered by Lt. Col. Shahzada Gulfraz during his tenure as Wing Commander of 92-Wing Rangers in the SITE area. He remarked that Pakistan’s defense is being fought on multiple fronts, including the economic front, where industrialists act as frontline soldiers by strengthening the national economy.

Wing Commander 63-Wing Rangers Lt. Col. Haroon Sarfraz appreciated the respect and solidarity shown by the business community toward the Armed Forces. He noted that the martyred officer had been posted to a challenging assignment where he ultimately embraced martyrdom. He added that Lt. Col. Shahzada Gulfraz had set high security standards in the SITE area, which continue to be upheld.

Chairman of the Law and Order Committee Abdul Hadi praised the late officer’s swift decision-making and resolute actions, recalling that an extortion case had been resolved within 72 hours under his leadership. He prayed that Almighty Allah may continue to instill the spirit of martyrdom in the Armed Forces and accept their sacrifices for the motherland.
