FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) A rush of passengers returning to their hometowns to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their
families was witnessed at major transport points across Faisalabad on Friday while the
district administration and transport authorities made comprehensive arrangements to facilitate
travelers and prevent overcharging of fares.
Railway stations, general bus stands and private transport terminals remained crowded throughout the
day as thousands of people continued leaving the city for different districts of Punjab and other parts
of the country.
Long queues of passengers were seen at booking counters while many families carrying luggage
waited patiently for buses and trains to reach their destinations before the Eid.
A spokesman for the transport department said that special monitoring teams had been deployed at
all major bus terminals to ensure that transporters strictly follow the approved fare lists.
He said that the authorities would not allow any transport company to charge extra fares from passengers
and strict action would be taken against violators.
