Rescue 1122 launches intensive search after young woman jumps into Chenab river

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jun, 2026) Rescue 1122 teams launched an extensive search operation after receiving reports that a 22-year-old woman had allegedly jumped into the Chenab River near the old bridge on Sargodha Road on Sunday.

According to rescue officials, an emergency caller informed authorities that a young woman had entered the river under unclear circumstances. Responding swiftly, water rescue teams rushed to the scene and immediately initiated a coordinated search operation.

Rescue personnel are conducting line and boat searches in an effort to locate the missing woman, while surveillance is also being carried out at multiple points along the river.

Specialized water rescue experts and rescue boats have been deployed to strengthen the ongoing operation.

The missing woman was identified as Iram Bibi, daughter of Mirza and a resident of Chak No. 44, Lalian. Rescue 1122 officials said that despite continuous efforts, the woman had not been traced till the filing of this report, and the search operation remains underway.
