Economic prosperity linked to political stability, democratic continuity: Tahira Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jun, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Tahira Aurangzeb on Sunday said that economic prosperity is directly linked to political stability and the continuity of the democratic process.

Taking part in the budget debate in the National Assembly, she said the country's challenges could only be resolved through dialogue and consensus.

She stressed that a mature political environment was essential for economic stability. “The stronger the political atmosphere, the greater the economic stability the country will achieve,” she said.

The PML-N legislator warned that economic progress would remain elusive if political unrest and confrontation persisted.

She said that whenever Pakistan became internally weak, hostile forces on both its eastern and western borders were encouraged.

Referring to the changing economic landscape and the objectives of the budget, Aurangzeb said the government had proposed measures aimed at providing fresh hope to citizens and helping reduce the burden of inflation.

She also highlighted the government's efforts to expand access to credit cards and other financial facilities for ordinary citizens.

These services, she said, would no longer remain limited to affluent segments of society but would also be extended to low- and middle-income groups, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth reach every citizen.
