DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) As temperature continues to soar between 43°C and 45°C in Dera Ismail Khan, the Rescue 1122 has launched a district-wide awareness campaign to educate the public on preventing heatstroke and staying safe during the ongoing heatwave.
The campaign has been initiated under the supervision of the District Emergency Officer, Dera Ismail Khan.
The Rescue 1122 teams visited markets, bus terminals, parks, riversides and other crowded public places to raise awareness about the risks of extreme heat and share practical safety measures with citizens.
The people were advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak daytime hours, drink plenty of water and other fluids, wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing, cover their heads when exposed to direct sunlight.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Besides, the citizens were advised to take special care of children, the elderly and individuals with underlying health conditions.
The teams also educated the public on recognising the warning signs of heatstroke, including dizziness, fainting, severe weakness, a high body temperature and difficulty breathing.
Citizens were advised to immediately move anyone showing these symptoms to a cool place, cool the body with water and contact Rescue 1122 for emergency assistance without any delay.
Rescue 1122 said it remains fully prepared to respond to all emergencies and urged upon the residents to follow precautionary measures throughout the ongoing heatwave to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses and save lives.
